The Joys of Spring

Spring is upon us and that means a celebration of Easter is as well.  Every year, the Resurrection has a different meaning to me.  I understand the fundamentals of the resurrection, but each Easter there is a verse or phrase that sticks in my head and it becomes my Resurrection “song” if you will.  This year it’s:

Philippians 3:10-12 “I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.  Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”

I love how humbling and yearing these verses are.  They are a true reminder of what our calling should be BECAUSE of Christ’s resurrection from the dead!

Another HUGE plus side to the Easter Celebration is family.  I believe our Easter brunch, lunch, and dinner on Sunday, after fellowship at church, is one of the closest thing on earth to the heavenly experience we will share at the feast.  Sitting with family, talking about our joys in Christ and what else, but sitting a a lovely adored table with Easter Eggs GALORE.

Amen and Hallelujah!
